A few weeks ago, I had the great opportunity to be a guest in the Robert Kupisz fashion show in Warsaw. I have always been a great fan of Robert Kupisz and his designs, but held my reservations at the door, as it was my first time attending his show. The show took place in The Soho Factory in East Warsaw. Upon entering, I was greeted by a modern, industrial design that began raising my expectations for the show.

The theme chosen for this show was called “Desert”. Upon entering the building, it was immediately noticeable that I was surrounded by captivating scenography. Tropical palms and sun was a sudden uplifting feeling that got you into this summery mood, of an evening in a hot tropical oasis. The music was also a big plus, including all of the old hippie classics, well known to all of my fellow attendees.

The “Desert” collection was a combination of the hippie and boohoo style, where  the colours of earth, fringe and different shades of jeans were center stage. A big part of the collection also seemed to play with the oversized style, puffy sleeves, ruffles and sequins. All of this was a perfect amalgamation of the most important 70’s  styles.  Well planned details like palm trees, hair bands and big round bracelets finished each of the looks.

When it comes to textures; Robert Kupisz went with a combination of very strong, masculine and feminine materials while maintaining those summer vibes. Torn jeans, corduroy, velours and sheered materials rocked the runway. A noticeably important part of the runway was also the simple white tee imprinted with the word “Tolerance”. This perfectly matched the mood of the show and is a reference to a very popular anti-hate and feminist fashion movement that has been gaining serious traction over this past year.

When it comes to my personal choices, I was definitely attracted to a few eye-catching gems.  As a big fan of the timelessness that the colour black inspires, I fell in love with all of the black outfits. My absolute number one however, was the oversized, long nude shirt with a palm print on the back. This piece stole my heart!

I need to mention that I was highly impressed with the show and I’m happy that I was able to be a part of it. Congrats Robert Kupisz! Great job!

Below you can find some of my favourite looks, which I hope you will like.
